A Night at the Roculus is one of the most fun VR demos I’ve tried in a long time.

It made me laugh out loud and once I got used to the movements  I found myself really getting lost in it with no thought or regard for what I might actually look like whilst nodding, pecking and shrugging my way through the short demo.

The demo is loosely based on the Just Dance series of games but instead of using your body you can only use your head movements to try to get as a high a score as possible. Visually the game set does what it needs to do, placing you in the back seat of a car while your two fella party friends dance along in sync to the music in the front seats. You are on a never ending street surrounded by tall building which set that “on your way to a house party” vibe and the Haddaway tune ”What is Love” is just what you need to get you into the party spirit.

If this progresses into a full game I can see it having a large appeal, especially to 90s dance fans like myself and if there were another 10 or so tracks made available tomorrow I would happily sit down and dance my way through all of them.

This is a thoroughly enjoyable demo suitable for all ages and should be taken as a bit of fun to shed the stresses of the day or something to show your friends if you are having any non virtual parties of your own.

And speaking of parties……………
