Virtual Desktop to release on Steam.

Virtual Desktop is a VR application that has been developed for both the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. It lets you use your computer’s screen from inside VR, which comes in especially handy as you don’t need to remove your headset every time to launch a new application. So you can stay fully immersed in your VR world.

The application comes packed full of features such as the ability to play/ stream YouTube 360 videos as well as being able to view 360 photos. One of my favourite features is the ‘Home Theatre’ environment where you can sit in a virtual home cinema and watch your favourite movies on your media player on a big screen.  Games can also be played through your giant cinema and Virtual Desktop lets you customize the size of your screen in some of the other environments on offer. This will possibly be very similar in ways to Sony’s Cinematic mode for the PlayStation VR which was announced last week.

Virtual Desktop launches on 28th March which will be available on Steam.
